For the third time, we travel into the bottom of the most impressive canyon on the planet with the intent of running ham radio and reaching out as far as we possibly can. I stress "for the third time" as I still get people telling me what is and what is not possible from that location. We're not learning from past failures in the canyon. We're building upon previous successes and we're continuing to push the envelope. We're using Parks on the Air as a tool to learn what is actually possible with amateur radio. Do we really need summits? What do summits really do for us? If we need to call for help in a compromised location, should we set up and try, or do we need to risk moving to a higher location?
