Abstract

This tutorial will cover Dense Division Wave Multiplexing (DWDM) technologies and how to use them. During the class, we will be covering:

DWDM fiber concepts, such as channels, fixed grid, flex grid, bandwith, and mux/demux filters and other passive devices.
Transceivers, transponder, and muxponder concepts (Modulation, Baud vs bit rates, form factors)
Amplifier technologies
ROADMs and other optical switching technologies
Troubleshooting and testing

At the end of the tutorial, the attendee will have gained a good overview of these concepts and will be able to build further on the knowledge learned.
