*'Tru-192' - A true hardware 192kHz/24 bit hi-rez transfer - Enhanced for FM radio play version. To hear the original AM hit single version with the Mono master sound, I've only been able to find it here on YouTube from two other YouTube channels - youtube.com/watch?v=e6rij_iz9Eo & youtube.com/watch?v=nXE1LuM67Cw.
For some reason, I don't believe the original hit single version is currently available anywhere for digital consumption for the mainstream market listeners in our official digital audio supply pipeline provided to us by the labels. And I'm not sure why because that is the original way that we all heard it, not the album stereo master version that you currently here instead.
It should be the original AM Mono sound version that is also made available for us to consume because that was the original version and sound. And that was the version that was played all over AM radio for so many years back in the 60's and 70's and is the one that is firmly embedded into the mainstream American musical consciousness and so we connect with that version the most. It should also be remedied for accuracy sake, for our listening heritage and traditions sake and for honoring those that gave us this wonderful legacy recording in the original intent sound that we all heard, IMHO.
I don't know about the high-end market digital version that currently exist for us to consume, however. It may be the correct one.
"Wishin' and Hopin'" by Dusty Springfield
Words & Music by - Burt Bacharach / Hal David
Lyrics
Wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin'
Plannin' and dreamin' each night of his charms
That won't get you into his arms
So if you're lookin' to find love you can share
All you gotta do is hold him, and kiss him and love him
And show him that you care
Show him that you care just for him
Do the things he likes to do
Wear your hair just for him, 'cause
You won't get him
Thinkin' and a-prayin', wishin' and a-hopin'
'Cause wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin'
Plannin' and dreamin' his kisses will start
That won't get you into his heart
So if you're thinkin' of how great true love is
All you gotta do is hold him, and kiss him and squeeze him and love him
Yeah, just do it
And after you do, you will be his
You gotta show him that you care just for him
Do the things he likes to do
Wear your hair just for him, 'cause
You won't get him
Thinkin' and a-prayin', wishin' and a-hopin'
'Cause wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin'
Plannin' and dreamin' his kisses will start
That won't get you into his heart
So if you're thinkin' of how great true love is
All you gotta do is hold him, and kiss him and squeeze him and love him
Yeah, just do it
And after you do, you will be his
You will be his
You will be his
