Respect your elders.
The public prototype of Dustforce is a far different beast than the revision we know and love today, and this map is recreated from the titular "Difficult" level that started it all; the granddaddy of Giga and all its' subsequent offspring.
An interesting note to be made is that, among many other differences between prototype and final product, the ranking was calculated differently in the earlier versions. Each "small" object needed to be Heavy Attacked onto a flat surface, then subsequently cleaned up, to add to the total "thoroughness" of a stage. A few segments of this map are designed to reflect this, yet can be ignored or otherwise avoided due to the complete overhaul of the ranking system between revisions.
Since the original design of this map was built around a different engine entirely, some artistic creativity had to be enacted for recreating this spike-filled relic. Even still, it's certainly interesting to see just how far this game has come from those simpler times.
Those who've been dusting since the days of yore might get a kick out of the music choice.
