One attraction at the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is its Museum. The museum hosts a fine variety of motive power and rolling stock. The 2 locomotives are Rio Grande Southern 42, a 2-8-0 C-17 built in 1887 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works. The second locomotive is Denver & Rio Grande Western 478, a 2-8-2 K-28 built by the American Locomotive Works in August of 1923. 478 last ran in 2016 and is awaiting its 1472 inspection mandated by the FRA.
