On pretty much every video production we use V-mount batteries to power camera gear and charge small electronics. While a lot of them are robust, they are usually not designed to be used in rough weather and extreme outdoor conditions. SmallRig has introduced a power bank that is specifically made for such filming scenarios, the X-Touch Triple-Proof V-Mount Battery X99. The 99Wh capacity device features a 2” color touch screen but can also be monitored via mobile app. It comes with a total of 7 ports, including 2 USB-C in and outputs with 100W each. Built in are LG 18650 cells, which can be fully re-charged in two hours. Regarding durability, the unit can withstand drops from a height of up to 1.5m, has an IP54 water and dust proof rating with a rugged housing made from fire-resistant PC, ABS, aluminum alloy and has silicone-protected corners.
