Dunes of the Silver Palace
Featuring Makis Gibs
Some songs don't begin with a melody...
They begin with a story.
This journey started when my friend Makis Gibs released an incredible 34-minute electric guitar improvisation titled "Tea with a Desert Poet in the Dunes of the Silver Palace." Alongside the music, he shared a beautifully written story about Elias, a mysterious desert poet, and a shimmering Silver Palace rising from an endless sea of dunes.
I sat with both the music and the story for quite some time.
The more I listened, the more this world began to unfold inside my own imagination. The Silver Palace became more than a place. The desert became more than sand. It became a journey through memory, loss, creation, and the quiet search for something that has always lived within us.
That journey eventually became Dunes of the Silver Palace.
Using the opening three-and-a-half minutes of Makis' original improvisation as the musical foundation, I wrote original lyrics, layered the vocals, built the harmonies, and created an entirely new song around the world he imagined. After finishing the vocal production, I sent everything back to Makis, who created the final mix that you hear in this release.
For the video, I wanted to bring that world to life visually.
I used ChatGPT to help create the landscapes, characters, and moments inspired by the story, animated those images to give them movement and atmosphere, then filmed myself performing the song and blended everything together into the final piece you see here.
One of my favorite lines from Makis' story has stayed with me from the very beginning:
"The desert does not keep records. It only keeps pace. We are the rhythm; the palace is the rest."
That single thought became the heart of this song.
I truly love working with Makis. He's not only an incredibly gifted guitarist and improviser, but someone whose music constantly sparks new worlds to explore. There is a natural musical chemistry between us that has made these collaborations some of my favorite work I've created, and we're only just getting started.
Many more are on the horizon.
If this song resonated with you, I'd encourage you to experience the piece that inspired it.

🎵 “Monsters” – Bonnie Legion x Qrittix
A haunting electro-pop track produced by Netherlands producer Qrittix, “Monsters” dives into the madness of the modern world religion, politics, society, and the power of words that build or destroy. Featuring an eerie Joker quotes and darkly hypnotic production, this song captures the tension between inner demons and outer chaos.
Lyrics
[Intro – Joker Cartoon Sample]
“The moment he kills me, he becomes me.
If I kill him, I miss the opportunity to see him suffer.
Oh... dilemmas, dilemmas.”
Verse 1
I get tired sometimes of all the madness
I get lost in my mind with all the blackness
There’s something so unnerving with this religion
And there is something so disturbing in society’s prison
Chorus
We’re letting out the monsters, as you can see
I’m faced with a monster inside of me
Words — powerful words, drawing a line in the sand
Words — words, powerful words
Give the monsters permission
Words — powerful words, powerful words
Flashing above the land
Words — powerful words, monsters for division
Verse 2
I can’t seem to find all the pieces
And I know I want to free my mind from all the leeches
There’s something so unnerving in all of the news
There’s something so disturbing in all of your truths
Chorus
Words — powerful words, drawing a line in the sand
Words — powerful words
We give the monsters permission
Words flashing above the lands
Words — powerful words, monsters for division
When I wrote “Monsters,” I was feeling the weight of a world unraveling people divided by screens, words, and ideologies that twist meaning into weapons. It’s a song about reflection, about the monsters we’ve created both inside ourselves and in the collective consciousness. Every tweet, post, and soundbite adds to the fire. But within the darkness, there’s still a chance to choose empathy, awareness, and truth. This song feels more relevant today than ever a mirror to the chaos we keep feeding, and a call to wake up before the words consume us all.

Hard Lyrics
why cant you tell thats not what she said,
but thats what he said,
are we all gonna go down hard with this ship babe,
why cant you tell thats not what he did,
but thats what he did,
oh yeah were all gonna burn real hard for this shit babe
oooo
oooo
yeah were all gonna go down hard with the ship babe
oooo
oooo
yeah were all gonna burn real hard for this shit babe
comfort me theres no understanding
and all this is madning
I pause my mind with my eyes closes standing
I saw a man he was covered in mud
and he touched my soul as the cleanest one
didnt own no home on the streets he roam
as the crowds snub by with there sleek colognes
he didnt wear no tie, no fancy face,
just a 12-string guitar and a tattered case
said dont leave no money Ive got something true
sit down my friend heres a tip for you
you dont need no application
you dont need no reference here
you just speak your destination
it will come round
its already found
the journey is here
why cant you tell thats not what she said
thats not what he said
oh yeah were all gonna go down hard with this ship babe
why cant you tell thats not what she did
but thats what he did
oh yeah were all gonna burn real hard for this shit babe
oh why cant you tell thats not what she said
but thats what he said
why cant you tell thats not what he did

BURN ME — Shavon Bonnie Legion | Makis Gibs
A Sound Legion Production
There is a strange conjunction between some of my vocals and the productions in these improvs, especially when ai backings are involved that often change flows so it takes great control in my head to keep the vocal melody straight but its a challenge i truly love flowing over freely. This one stumbles a bit in flow in the beginning but really gets cookin
“Burn Me” is a song about intensity that kind of desire that feels less like a thought and more like a force of nature. A burning sun. A pull toward something that lives somewhere between the body, the heart, imagination and the places we don’t always have words for.
This song began with an improvisation by **Makis Gibs (Makis Paradeisopoulos)** from his *Awakening* improv series **Awakening Part 15**, performed over an AI-generated backing track.
When I heard Makis’ guitar, something immediately opened up for me. I took the improvisation and wrote an entirely original lyric and vocal melody around this intensity feeling, then recorded my vocal performance and sent the track back to Makis. From there, he worked the pieces together and mixed the song into the final version you hear here.
So “Burn Me” became a meeting point between an improvised guitar performance and an original song, Makis bringing the guitar and its first emotional landscape, me answering it with lyrics, melody and voice, and then Makis shaping everything into the finished mix.
For the video, I wanted that same sense of two performances existing inside one shared space. I took Makis’ original live performance footage and placed it alongside my own close-mic performance, creating the feeling that we are performing the song together from two different places.
“Burn Me” is ultimately about the strange beauty of wanting the heat of something that can illuminate you, consume you, frighten you, and still make some part of you whisper,
burn me.

🌙 “Soft Place of Magic”
[Verse 1]
I was talking to the silence
Heard it breathing through the pines
Felt a shiver in the distance
Like a truth I left behind
I drew circles in the cold dirt
Watched them fade beneath the wind
Every line I ever followed
Led me back to where I been
[Pre-Chorus]
And I’ve been walking through the echoes
Of a life I almost knew
[Chorus]
And I keep running far away
Through the dark and through the gray
Looking for a softer place
Where the light still knows my name
I was reaching through the static
Trying hard to feel the magic
Is it gone or did I change
Am I lost or just remade
[Verse 2]
I remember when it held me
Like the ocean holds the tide
Now I’m floating through the memory
Of the girl I left inside
There were voices in the fire
There were colors in the air
Now the smoke is getting thicker
But I swear it’s still in there
[Pre-Chorus]
And I’ve been calling out to something
That I feel but cannot prove
[Chorus]
So I keep running far away
Through the weight of every day
Looking for a sacred place
Where the hurt can dissipate
I was breaking through the pattern
Trying just to feel what mattered
Is it love or just the ache
Of every bond I had to break
[Bridge]
If I fall into the quiet
Will it hold me or divide me
If I open up the silence
Will it find me, will it find me
I don’t need to be forgiven
I just need to feel the living
In the space between the pain
And the part of me that stayed
[Final Chorus]
Now I’m not running far away
I’m just learning how to stay
In the shadow, in the flame
In the truth I couldn’t face
There’s a pulse beneath the static
There’s a thread of something magic
It was never really gone
I was just too far to hold on
[Outro]
Now I hear it in the silence
Feel it breathing in my chest
Every step that led me nowhere
Was just leading me to this Soft Place of Magic](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/WbSAzR-a_js/mqdefault.jpg)
