Since a new adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune is coming out soon, I thought of remixing the amazing title theme by Toto from David Lynch's version.
This has been made without any premade Midi file and was written by ear. I also tried to match the NES sound chip's limitations.
Tools, I used were LMMS with its Nescaline plugin and Cinos Modnar's Ultimate 8 bit soundfont for thee drums. The thumbnail was made using GIMP.

This is a cover from Ilias theme from Star Trek the Motion Picture. It was played with a Tamburica, a Croatian ethnical Instrument. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamburica)
There werent any notes used, so it isnt really 1:1. I just listened.
Im a big fan of Star Trek and also like the first movie. So I covered it.
The Original Ilias theme was composed by Jerry Goldsmith.
