Dune is a 1992 adventure strategy game based on the 1965 science-fiction novel of the same name by Frank Herbert. It was developed by Cryo Interactive and published by Virgin Interactive.
The story is mostly based on the plot of the Dune novel: the player is Paul Atreides, son of Duke Leto Atreides and Lady Jessica. House Atreides was given an irresistible offer by the Emperor Shaddam IV – mine the spice from the desert planet Arrakis, formerly controlled by their ancient enemy: House Harkonnen. Duke Leto accepts the offer not only to gain the incredible wealth that comes from Spice trading, but also to utilize the native peoples of Arrakis - the fearsome tribal warriors known as the Fremen - against House Harkonnen.
