Duke running back Nate Sheppard had an extremely productive freshman season for the Blue Devils in 2025 and looks ready to have an outstanding 2026. Sheppard put up 1,132 rushing yards, 1,440 all-purpose yards, and is one of three returning running backs in the ACC who ran for 10 or more touchdowns in 2025. With the departure of Anderson Castle, the sophomore will be the undisputed top running back heading into the season, and after a change at quarterback and a change in the receiver room, Sheppard should be the workhorse for the offense in 2026.
