Duke Levine’s latest band/project, Super Sweet Sounds of the ’70s, plays instrumental reinterpretations of Me Decade hits from Traffic, The Band, and Elton John along with covers of King Crimson and Barry White. Duke deploys vintage gear throughout, including Fender Telecasters from ’63 and ’53, a ’50 Gibson SJ, and a few reissues. Here, he uses the ’53 plugged into a ’66 Princeton Reverb to play us a one-off rendition of the Neil Young tune “Only Love Can Break Your Heart.” Catch our interview with Duke in the February issue.
