Matthew King plays from Duke Ellington's 'The Single Petal of a Rose' from Queen's Suite'. In 1958 met Queen Elizabeth II when he was touring the UK. The piano solo 'The Single Petal of a Rose' is the intimate 5th track. After returning to New York he wrote and recorded the Queen's Suite privately with his band. A single copy was pressed and sent to Buckingham Palace without any fanfare or press releases - it was a purely personal gift and the suite was never issued in his lifetime.
