You know what has been bothering me about this Duck Dynasty thing is that everyone has totally accepted Robertson's views as the Christian standpoint when it isn't. He has taken a section of the Bible...two now it seems...and lifted them out of their context. First he used 1Corintians 6:9-10 with its list of people who wont inherit the Kingdom of God but then stopped short of verse 11 in which it says "And such were some of YOU." including the original corinthian believers in his statement. The Corinthians were going to prostitutes and boasting about their freedom to do so and the Apostle Paul was correcting them. NOT CONDEMNING THEM...correcting them. Which is why we have the verses that follow in that chapter. No where were these Corinthians condemned and in some places in where praised for their faith.
Yet it is the act of religion to pull that verse out its historical context and focus of the sin while utterly ignoring the greater message of Grace found in that same book. Phil Robertson is not unique in what he did...its religious party line and he's just repeating it...but it is also a complete misuse of the scriptures to back up their point of view.
OK...that's just my two cents. Otherwise I don't give a dam about Duck Dynasty or what Phil Robertson thinks about me. /Rant off
