This animated short was produced for the U.S. Air Force by OSAMA Ltd. of New York illustrates how a Defense Satellite Communications System 3 (DSCS-3) geostationary communications satellite would be boosted to orbit atop an Atlas II launch vehicle. The satellite would be deployed using the Integrated Apogee Boost Subsystem (IABS).
The video is undated, however DSCS-3 was deployed on the Atlas II starting in 1992 from Launch Complex 36.
