- Delta's DSC7090 Bolt Down Beam Barrier thwarted multiple attempts by this truck to enter the boardwalk at Venice Beach. The M30/P1 rated barrier says 'Access Denied'.
The DSC7090 is crash tested to an ASTM M30/P1 rating. That means it will stop a 15,000 pound (6800 kg) truck going 30 mph (50 kph) with negative 6.3 feet (1.9 m) of penetration. The dual beam design provides coverage of 12 to 24 feet (3.7 to 7.3 m) of roadway with a full 90 degree opening. This prevents both large and small vehicles from breaching the security perimeter.
Raising in only five seconds and lowering in merely two seconds yields a fast cycle rate of over 100 vehicles in and out per hour, making the DSC7090 ideal for higher traffic and population locations. The DSC7090 is used when wide roadways need to be secured from attacking vehicles and in larger parking areas where security systems are needed to deter theft, such as what we see in this video and the unsuccessful perpetrator attempts to enter the Venice Beach boardwalk.
