So this has been an idea thats been a while in the making...
I havent done a classical music montage ever since the Great Fairy Fountain x Fantasie Impromptu (Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time x Chopin) years ago, so I thought Year 6 would be a great time to bust out some new classical piano etude mashups! Ive loved the Portal 2 OST to death since middle school, but figuring out a song to play on piano from its exhaustive electronic soundtrack is hard. Halls of Science 4 is a simple enough yet semi-iconic tune from the multiplayer campaign of the game, but I wanted to give it a bit more pizzazz in some way since it would be pretty boring if I just played it as is.
Suddenly one day, I had the realization that one of the arpeggios in the song had the same notes as the first run in Chopins famous Black Keys Etude (Op. 10 No. 5) and BAM that got the creative juices flowing. While this isnt exactly a perfect amalgamation of the two sources, I took the main notes and chords from Halls of Science 4 and tried to give them the hyped up energy of Black Keys Etude to the best of my ability (and play as many black keys as possible :P).
So I hope you enjoy this classical/modern music experiment! If you like it, I got some more complex and difficult ideas in mind that I might be able to try out 👀 Also let me know if yall like the Saturday uploads or if you want it to go back to Friday afternoon, Im kind of experimenting with scheduling too now.

So heres something new and experimental for the channel! In case yall havent seen me yap about it already, I stream some games for fun on Twitch in order to interact with yall in chat. Recently my friend NC Cymphonies and I have been doing a series where we try to learn Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle, and so I compiled some of the best moments and did (too much) editing on it to make this highlight reel. If you like plenty of memes while watching two guys lose brain cells, this video is for you.

Whos hyped for Secret of Mana remastered? :D
...nobody? Oh, okay...
So basically I was asked to make a remix for an album on the VGM remix site OCRemix, and so I decided to pick the minimalist tunes Steel and Snare and Dead of the Night.
My overall goal for this track was to make something new and refreshing, because in general when Ive looked around OCR for EDM, everything Ive found has been either ambient, experimental, or just old (as in pre-2010 era). Since doing modern dubstep wouldnt work (since who has time to fit a melody in dubstep?), I decided to go with something more melodic and modern with a future bass track in the style of Virtual Riot, one of my favorite all-around electronic producers. With a hint of Flume and a few wubz thrown in, I hope that this track will give off the chill, natural vibes that Secret of Mana is known for.

No, its not Big Blue
So heres another interesting song for the channel (at this point, anything that isnt Nintendo is interesting for this channel)! Ever since Ive started playing Dragon Ball FighterZ, Ive been getting more into checking out the fighting game community as a whole. Tekken 7 is a staple of the genre, and its soundtrack is just as godlike as its gameplay. I decided to pick Infinite Azure since it both combines the nostalgic piano vibes that my covers are known for while also seamlessly incorporating that into an upbeat, drums-and-bass style beat that brings out the hype of the game.

Why do I keep making myself play hard pieces 👀💦
Interesting story behind me getting to this point of playing this piece: About a year ago at Gamer Symphony Orchestra while I was noodling on piano, some person asked me if I knew how to play some Pokémon stuff like Champion Cynthia. I was like Havent heard of it, lemme check it out! When I first heard it, I was like HOLY CRAP Im never gonna be able to play that, but in the back of my mind I was thinking that one day, Id do it.
So Ive been practicing this every so often for the last year, and finally in recent weeks I was like Alright, I wanna get this done, lets do it and hustled to get this into shape. Somehow it worked, and so here you have it. It may not be quite full speed, but I hope you enjoy it anyways :P
Time to see what other crazy piano songs I can pull out of nowhere o_0 Rikus theme from the Kingdom Hearts Piano Collections does look spicy...

Back when I was regularly doing Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild covers, yall asked for Hyrule Castle a whole bunch, so I finally decided to actually find an arrangement of this tune (this version graciously transcribed by fellow Youtube musician Tim de Man, check him out!) and play it for yall. This arrangement is sort of a mashup of the Hyrule Castle (Inside) and Hyrule Castle (Outside) themes, so I tried my best to blend together the epic orchestral vibes with the spooky, haunting pipe organ vibes that both versions of the songs have.
Sorry for missing a week of piano (even though I made up for it with 433 :v), more Breath of the Wild and other general piano stuff comin up soon!
