Interestingly, I don't think JeeNiNe and I are that far apart in terms of our opinions - I find myself in almost total agreement with everything he says.
One last thing - I didn't talk about the fact that unlike fighting games, invasions are asymmetric in nature. This means that a feature that is available to both parties will not necessarily have equal effects on both groups. The prime example of this is an invader vs. a solo host - the cancel benefits the host way more than the invader.
