A jolly, bearded man named Kris volunteers to be Santa for the Macy's Thanksgiving holiday parade and sets off a controversy about his identity which can only be determined conclusively on Christmas Day. The agelessly appealing MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET affirms that there is a Santa, as well as a need for good will and year-round kindness.
