Dealing with your family at Thanksgiving can be hard—just ask Claudia Larson (Holly Hunter), an art restorer who, after being fired and kissing her supervisor, travels back to Baltimore for the holiday. There she deals with an overbearing mother (Anne Bancroft), an oblivious father (Charles Durning), and a brother (Robert Downey Jr.) who is afraid to bring his boyfriend home to meet the family. Add in an uptight sister, a crazy aunt, and an old boyfriend that still pines for her, and Claudia has the makings of a disaster weekend. Through it all, she will find that family will always be there for you, whether you like it or not.
