Drum Washer Machine for Cleaning Root Crops | SolidWorks Design & How It Works
In this video, I showcase a custom-designed drum washing machine for cleaning root crops like carrots, potatoes, cassava, beets, and more. Designed in SolidWorks, this machine is PTO-powered (connected to a tractor) and ideal for medium to large-scale farms or engineering student projects.
The washer features:
A rotating drum connected via belt and pulley to the tractor PTO
Internal mesh agitators for gentle scrubbing
Continuous water spray for thorough cleaning
A receiving tray that separates cleaned crops from wastewater
A water recycling tray to save water during operation
A mobile trailer-mounted design for easy transport
