I found myself near the center of the drum circle when Afrika Abney picked up on the beat and tie-die/penguin panted Joe Kennedy Jr. with his magic fluted recorder joined in, supported by the very finest pillars of Washington, who have held this town, and themselves together for centuries - through it all. I wanted to shoot it from as close as I could get to the ground, - which is usually the way I see monuments.
