LYRICS & CHORDS BELOW. This is a song that I wrote in September.
If it sounds really bad, that may be due to the fact that I have strep throat.

My grandpa on my mom's side died, and she had to drive home with a lot of his stuff in the car, and I was thinking about it and was kinda like... Wow, that would be really sad to have to go through. So I wrote a song about it, haha. :) I hope you like it! Feedback is ALWAYS appreciated. Rate, comment, & subscribe!
LYRICS (Played on Capo 3):
G---------------------D-----------------
Three hour drive, it's getting grey
Em---------------Cadd9-------------
The phone's run out of words to say
G--------------D-------------Em---Cadd9--
Nothing but commercials on the radio
G----------------------------D-------------Em--------Cadd9--
Where her wheels are taking her, she doesn't know.
G---------------------------D-------------
Seems like her life is turning left,
Em-----------------Cadd9-------------
Maybe nothing's for the best, with
G----------------------------------D----------------------------
Golf clubs in the back seat, letters on the console
Em-------------------------------Cadd9--------------------
Hats on the dashboard, tennis racket at her feet.
G-D-Em-Cadd9-
She's drowning.
G---------------------D-----------------------
Living on wishes, breathing in tears
Em--------Cadd9---------------------G---
She's drowning... In her memories.
G-D-Em-Cadd9
Driving past airports, forests, and trains
She's losing the battle of staying sane
So she keeps her eyes fixed on the road ahead
Running through her mind are the words unsaid.
Focused eyes, wandering mind
Her thoughts have left her brain behind, cause she's got
Golf clubs in the back seat, letters on the console
Hats on the dashboard, tennis racket at her feet.
She's drowning.
Living on wishes, breathing in tears
She's drowning... In her memories.
D-----------------------Em-------------------------
Though it's cliche, it's cliche for a reason;
Cadd9------------------------------------D---------
You don't know what you have till it's gone.
Em------------------------Cadd9----
You don't know what you have...
D (hang)
She didn't know
Road trips and skittles, state parks and wood
The ever present feeling of being misunderstood.
She's drowning...
Living on wishes, breathing in tears
She's drowning in her memories.
...In his memory.
*When I play this, I keep my bottom two fingers where they would be for the G chord (on the E & B strings), except for the phrase "she didn't know" in the bridge. That's a normal D.
