Dr. Kimberly Budil is the Director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), the 13th Director and the first woman to hold the role. She leads a workforce of over 8,700 employees and manages an annual budget of approximately $3 billion. She holds a Ph.D. in engineering/applied science from the University of California, Davis and a B.S. in physics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Under her leadership, LLNL executes major national security, science and technology programs including nuclear deterrence, fusion research, and advanced computing.
