SH 17 is a state highway connecting the cities of Bangalore and Mysore. It has a total length of 149 kilometres (93 mi). It was inaugurated in 2003. The highway passes through the towns of Ramanagara, Mandya and others before entering Mysore. The road is dual carriageway and passes over the Kaveri river.
The 15 km stretch from Bangalore Central to Kengeri NICE Road Junction is known as Mysore Road. Bangalore-Mysore highway is being upgraded to 6 lane.

SH 17 is a part of NH 275 which is a national highway that connects Bantwal with Bangalore through Mysore. It is 367 km long.

NH 948 is a highway in India which connects Bangalore with Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. It is a spur road of NH 48 which is 323 km long.
