In this video, we are driving Mount Blue Sky, AKA Mt Evans. Mount Evans scenic byway is the highest paved road you can drive in America. Mt Evans happened to be open just long enough for us, it will be closed for 2 years.
We start our journey off near Silverthorne Colorado where we are boondocking in our RV. The drive to Mount Blue Sky is about 1.5 hours. Driving Mount EVans requires you to get a permit online before you go for a timed entry spot. This system keeps the roads a little less busy, which is good because the road to Mt Evans is beat up and very narrow. Driving Mt Evans in our tow rig is quite the experience as well because it's steep and narrow. We also decide to hike to the top of Mount Evans and do our first 14eer.
