Fighting clouds, I decide to drive out to a distant location where I haven't tried Milky Way before. Assembly Hall Peak in the Wedge Canyon area. I haven't done Milky Way Photography out in this area before but I was excited to try capturing the foreground using the setting Moon to light it. Sadly, I misjudged how high the walls of the canyon would be and the mountains in the distance that all helped block the moon from lighting my foreground subject.

I still got an image to keep going strong on the Great Milky Way Chase of 2018! Night 17 out at the Wedge Canyon area was good enough! But I can't wait to get back out there and really get a great image someday!
