This is just some old test footage I shot while trying out a homemade dash cam rig. Very roughly cut and edited together with some music in Windows Movie Maker. I never originally planned to use/upload it, but, it turned out looking kinda cool, so I decided to throw it up on my channel. Sadly it seems YouTube's compression techniques have noticeably lowered the video's smoothness + clarity compared to the original :(.
Details
This was shot using an old £40 HD flip cam modded with a budget fisheye lens (see link below for my video tut) and a £5 dash mount from ebay. The location - in and around Hamilton - South Lanarkshire - Central Scotland some time in late January 2013. It's below zero outside (some patches of old snow still on the ground), the sun has just gone down and the rush hour traffic is beginning to kick off.
The Music
The track used in this video is called 'Streets Of 2043' and is by some Australian composers who go by the name Power Glove (not to be confused with the American power metal cover band of the same name).
I really like their music! A lot of their stuff seems to be 80's/90's inspired retro electronic tunes with samples from games such as Streets Of Rage etc. I actually found them by accident on MySpace a few years back while searching for the power metal group of the same name. You can listen/download most of their stuff either on SoundCloud or MySpace (links below). I especially like the tracks TELECOM, Streets of 2043 and Vengeance (found on the YT channel NewRetroWave).
