HELLO! Today's video was a spur of the moment idea as it happened. Driving Along PA53 in Clearfield County (Following the old New York Central/Beech Creek Extension). PA53 goes from South Fork PA to Snow Shoe Two at Pa144. But I will only be showing you the section from the Clearfield County line to Madera along the old New York Central. Come along with me for a scenic drive.

![Muncy Railroad Bridge, Last Raft Disaster
HELLO! Todays video is a long overdue one from last May (May 2024) of my fiance and I canoeing the whole West Branch of The Susquehanna River.
This video is on the Muncy area as we go under the former Reading Lines now Lycoming Valley Railroad that connects with Norfolk Southerns Buffalo Line.
Check out my other video of us passing under the Montgomery railroad bridge:
This bridge is the scene of a terrible event, the Last Raft disaster. On March 20th ,1938 a re-enactment of a lumber raft went down the Susquehanna river. The raft, on a trip from McGees Mills to Harrisburg, crashed into a pier at Muncy. Flinging passengers into the river, where many were rescued, but seven men were killed. A few days after the crash, members of the crew stole the docked raft, and finished the trip to [near] Harrisburg. It would be more than a month before all seven bodies were recovered, and at one point, dynamite was used in an attempt to raise the bodies to the surface.
