One person has died after being pulled from a truck that crashed into a pond on the northeast side of Indianapolis Monday morning.

The incident was reported around 7 a.m. Oct. 7 near the intersection of 42nd Street and North German Church Road.

The City of Lawrence Fire Department said in a social media post that its crews were on scene and being assisted by the Indianapolis Fire Department, Fishers Fire Department and Lawrence Police Department.

In a statement, an IMPD spokesperson said the driver of the truck was taken in critical condition to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

IMPD fatal crash investigators are now looking into the cause of the crash.
