I'm very pleased with this contraption I made:

This pump seems to be available in loads of different countries so hopefully this video will help lots of people.
It really solved a problem since I previously couldn't entirely empty the hot tub and removing sand from it was very time consuming.
It is great to have on hand if I ever need to drain a barrel, oil tank or sump - I think I will buy another so I have one for the hot tub and one for oil / petrol or anything else.
It will easily and quickly fully empty a sump or aquarium with no mess.
The impeller sounds like it is made from soft plastic and it literally wouldn't hurt a fly as demonstrated at the end of this video.......
