Thought I'd try something new!! I'd like to post more often, so maybe I can start posting speedpaints every Wednesday? Let me know what you guys think!!
To start off, here's a speedpaint with two side characters from Paradise!! The main focus of this picture is Tsurigane, a little old corgi islander. Next to him is Banko, an old friend from his mortal life. I did some research into flower meanings, and I found the Asiatic Lily-- a flower that represents foreign travel.
Some backstory to this,
Unlike the other members of Paradise, Tsurigane was sent when he was older. He had spent most of his life in a Buddhist temple as a monk. Day after day he meditated and helped those who came to the temple, always devoted. He had chosen this lifestyle after he was attacked, taking one eye and leaving him mostly blind in the other. So he went on with his life, taking this loss as a sign that he was needed elsewhere. As he got older, he started to realize that his time on this planet would soon be over, but he longed for adventure. He dearly missed the younger days where he could travel the wilds of Japan and discover new things. He began praying to Manjushri, the Buddhist god of Wisdom, that he might bless Tsurigane with one last adventure. Manjushri was annoyed by Tsurigane's wishes, the old corgi simply was not fit for adventure and he should know this. Having enough of his ignorance, Manjushri banished Tsurigane to Paradise. Manjushri cursed Tsurigane with the bell so that he will always have to announce the truth, only the facts.
Whew that was a lot,
anyways this was super fun to make!! If you guys like these I can make more, just suggest what characters you want!!
