DressageHub | Dressage Disaster: Mikala Munter Finds The Pitfalls Of Skyfall In The Grand Prix Dressage At WEC @DressageHub | Uploaded December 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
With only a few weeks until the start of the 2022 dressage season in Wellington, Florida a few of the top riders headed to the World Equestrian Center in Ocala to shake off the dust and get their horses ready for an exciting season.
Mikala Munter is back in the Grand Prix ring with a new horse named Skyfall, unfortunately, this weekend she discovered the pitfalls of Skyfall when they had a bit of a moment in the dressage ring. To make matters worse the gatekeeper was not on top of what was happening in the dressage ring. After Mikala retired she was left to wait it out until the ring was opened for her to exit.
I would like to point out that in most disasters we see the horses completely shut down, what I will say is that Mikala not only retired quickly in order to preserve the experience for Skyfall, but we also see him stay forward, even in his giant leap! Disasters happen, however, I do think that you can tell a lot about the training, the partnership and the rider when you watch how it all plays out.
