From Berlin, Joe and I travelled by bus to Dresden, Germany. It's about halfway to Prague and absolutely beautiful. Old Town Dresden holds the most ornate architecture I've ever seen. We spent a full day just wandering around taking pictures and videos. Our first day there was a bit rainy so the weather was cooler. The second day, however, was very hot so we went to a museum we saw signs for the previous day called Dresden Festung Museum (The Fortress of Dresden Museum). It was within the walls of the old Dresden Fortress which was mostly underground so it was much cooler! It was really interesting learning about the history of the city and how it protected itself.
The hostel we stayed at was in New Town Dresden. Even though it isn't as gorgeous, it had really wonderful cafes, shops, and restaurants which we much more affordable. We definitely recommend staying there and taking the bus into Old Town when you visit this city. Our hostel had organized a dinner the night we stayed there. We got to prep the food while talking to other travellers from all around the world. More people joined us once the food was ready and we had a total of over 15 people eating dinner together that night which was really fun.
