Both of my Parents were born and raised in New York City.
My Daughter now goes to Barnard College up in Morningside.
This is my Tribute Song for this Cycle.
Dream of Morningside
In 1927, Walker was King of the Town
Just beyond the Bash and just before the Crash
My Mother was born in New York
In 1931, The King had lost his crown
Depression set in, a dime or two to spend
And my Father was born in New York
So take me back again
To walk those streets of time
Manhattan resides up here in Morningside
In the Dreams from my Parents lives
In my future, their ghosts will occupy this town
From Barnard's Halls, History applauds
For my daughter will live in New York
So take me back again
To walk those streets of time
Manhattan resides up here in Morningside
In the Dreams from my Parents lives
In the Dreams of Morningside
