Dreams is my favorite song I ever created. I created the original Dreams two years ago when I first created Asylum (link in the description). Now, I created a Duet based off Dreams and even a Wind Ensemble piece as well.
Last summer, I was chosen to be apart of the Lamont Summer Academy at Denver University. I played with their Wind Ensemble and Orchestra learning music during the two weeks I was there. However, we had the chance to choose Minors along with my Major (which mine was percussion). I choose to minor in Composition because I want to become a composer. When I signed up for the composition minor, I misread the email and thought the said I could choose my instruments when I got there, so I never replied. I got an email along with all the other students participating in composition. Since I never replied, I was given Bass Trombone for my instrument and he said I could participate in my composition if I wanted to. I decided I wanted to participate with Marimba so that is what I did.
Instead of writing a new song, I decided to go with my most liked song which was Dreams. I made it into a duet which my partner Grayson and I played (and he was able to play it too. I thought he couldn't because I write difficult music). We played it and received dozens of complements after the concert. I have the recording of the live version, but tbh I am too scared to post it. This piece will always have a special place in my heart.
