iFlight Chimera 4: Modernizing My Favorite Small Cruiser with DJI O3 Air Unit
Apologies for the bobbles in the flight footage as I continue to fine-tune this drone. I've embarked on a rebuild journey with my beloved iFlight Chimera 4, transforming it into a dead cat-style cruiser equipped with the DJI O3 Air unit and 3800KV Motors. This drone has always held a special place in my heart for its compact size and enjoyable flight characteristics. However, I sought to give it a modern touch.
One persistent challenge has been a slight wobble during straight and level flight at low throttle. Despite trying various tuning styles, soft mounting FC and camera, different props, motors, and wiring configurations, as well as experimenting with props in and out, I haven't been able to completely resolve the low to mid-throttle oscillations. If you have any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate your input in the comments section.
Nevertheless, even with these minor imperfections, flying this drone remains an absolute joy. The morning I captured this footage was incredibly tranquil and beautiful, and I couldn't resist sharing it with you. Stay tuned for more updates on my journey to perfect this incredible FPV cruiser.
