RIP Duncan Gardiner. He was my guitar teacher from year 10 who made me fall in love with the classical guitar. He was a local performer and composer whose passion for music and kind heart was infectious. He was the first guitar teacher who encouraged me to play the pieces that I actually liked, and made the classical guitar a beautiful instrument that sings instead of being a stuffy, robotic instrument that old or rich people played. The capo I use in all my pop covers was actually from him. He'll always have a place in my heart.
I've played many of his compositions at concerts, but this Dreamcatcher Suite was always my favourite, especially the final movement, "Burn". I think he wrote this suite in 2007. I performed it in my 3rd year guitar recital at UWA in 2012.
