Ahaha c'mon, I don't have to explain this one, do I? I mean, a Multimale MEP with a song called "Dream Boy", I would've crieeeed if I hadn't gotten a part lmao. At first I wasn't sure which of faves to choose but then decided to go with Frodo since he's the sweetest and cutest of my (human) husbands, so he'd fit the image of the titular dream boy the most (also just LOOK at his huge blue eyes, this MEP just needed them!).
There weren't that many parts left when I joined and after looking up the lyrics, I thought I could work best with part 5's lyrics ("Make me complicated, I'm modern and I'm dated because I was born to be your favorite, yeah Build-A-Boy, pick my pieces, overjoyed, never leave your
heart destroyed, I'm your boy"). I liked how it started off with the boy being complicated, where I put Frodo aggressively complaining to Gandalf about Gollum and attacking Sam while being under the influence of the ring, because it neatly shows that he is a character with flaws and not always sweet and nice. Didn't know what to put for "modern" 'cause LOTR takes place in an 18th century/medieval-ish world lol so I just used the shots of Frodo and Sam in their orc armors standing in Mordor 'cause that's the most "modern" (and cool) LOTR thing I could think of to edit with, but for "dated" I thought the shot of Gandalf and Frodo riding a horse carriage would be a nice fit, especially because it's followed by a nice lip-sync of Frodo jumping off the carriage. Squeezed into this is the clip of him running up Mount Doom with the last bit of strength since the "I was born to be your favorite" is supposed to show WHY I love him afterall: an ordinary small and sensitive nerdy guy without superpowers who pushes through all the pain to save the world. The following funny music needed some funny clips, so here we go with the falling hobbits and then Idk, the "Build-A-Boy" was supposed to be Frodo's own mentality that he's got to be a hero on his own now (and to show some more heroic scenes of him). A cute dancing scene with the smiling Frodo I wanted to have at "overjoyed" and for the next scenes I just had the word "destroyed" in my head, so here he is fighting Gollum (also bcI wanted to feature badass scenes with a bit of lip sync). For the ending I just wanted a cute scene again, this time of Frodo struggling in the snow and rolling down the mountain and the shot of his gorgeous big blue eyes where he's looking at Galadriel because I couldn't stop thinking about it every time "I'm your boy!" came up.
For transitions I used slightly bouncy blending ones to make it all look "more fun" and some glitchy ones for the scene where the hobbits fall down the mountain to make it suit the music and give it a feeling of the comedic record scratch, if ya know what I mean. Additionally I wanted the whole part look mostly bright and happy with some color filter and although I don't think it is very noticeable, I think the part turned out good!
