The checkerboard borders are an inner border that goes around the center medallion which will be made from a panel. Strip piecing is the fastest and easiest way to make the checkerboard borders, and Jenny demonstrates how to sew the strips together, how to press them, and how to sub-cut them to get the required units. She then shows how to sew the units together and gives some tips for making sure each of the borders, top and bottom or side and side, start with the correct darker or lighter squares on the outer edges of the unit.
