In a year where people have found increasing solace in, and drawn creative inspiration from the natural world, we invite you to participate in and enjoy Drawn to Nature; Decorating a Museum. Join Librarian and Archivist, Danielle Czerkaszyn, to hear about how scientists, architects and Pre-Raphaelite artists came together to decorate the Museum, before taking a chance to draw some of the Museum’s natural history-inspired carvings, sculptures and spectacular glass ceiling and ironwork with Q+A’s in this online, interactive science and art workshop. Make sure to have your art materials to hand.
Danielle has a BA in history from the University of Guelph and an MA in History from the University of Western Ontario. Moving to England in 2011, Danielle completed an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester. She worked in academic libraries at the Bodleian Libraries and Royal Holloway, University of London, before joining Oxford University Museum of Natural History in 2017. She recently completed a distance-learning MA in Library and Information Services Management from the University of Sheffield. Danielle looks after the Library and Archive, a unique collection of natural history books, journals and archives with a focus on subjects relating to the Museum’s collections and research.
