Recently I've been using my mascot quite a bit in my youtube thumbnails and here I show my process in creating one of these guys for my thumbnails.

Some details that aren't described in the video is this. I draw these guys out on a higher resolution than a youtube thumbnail. I just render it out as a PNG and plop it into my thumbnail file which I use as a reusable template and proceed from there.
