This was DramaGate explained in a nutshell. Essentially it was to demonstrate that drama is bad m'kay and that to prove it they would create fake drama and then remark about how much their view count increased, and that because drama is bad we should avoid it and just focus on building the atheist community.
For the record on January 14th Darkmatter2525 sent out this bulletin.
"I regret "dramagate" because I no longer agree with the methods or reasons it was done. Though I did feel a bit dragged into it, I didn't really resist it as I should've either, and I let it go on without meaningful direction and consideration. I apologize. Telling others what they should PREFER (note: not "believe") or to actually impose preference on others is extremely misguided. "Drama" is subjective. I didn't intend any of this. I'm continuing my usual content without perpetuating it. Thx"
When these videos were uploaded in the second week of January, they all said the same thing in their video descriptions and also in the comment replies. That they couldn't explain what the accusation against Darkmatter2525 was until the victims had a chance to contact the police. They all promised to reveal the big secret on Saturday on BlogTV

Shortly after that BlogTV show each of the contributors put up an explanation video to their audience. Some only remained up for a few hours until they had regrets and took their videos down. I have found most of these thanks to youtube.com/losoyo and youtube.com/mistressarte

Once some key players such as Darkmatter2525 and MeridianFrost expressed regrets the dramagate organizers changed their story and essentially sold them out as seen here

In the end the Dramagate Organizers have announced they are going to An Hero their channels.
