Sometimes power levels are just BS (*cough* Dragonball *cough), and less can very well be more. What if you show how overwhelmingly powerful the antagonist is by not even letting the hero(es) fight them directly?
That's what Bram Stoker did in the original Dracula novel (1897). The protagonists are so outmatched that they have to exploit every weakness, and even then they don't win in a grand final battle. Francis Ford Coppola's movie adaption turns the final scene into a bit of an action spectacle, while the book makes the end more impactful by showing us that they never stood a chance in an actual fight. They have to get to the count while he's helpless and cannot fight back.
The novel is amazingly written anyway... a classic for a reason. If you've never read it (or listened to it in audiobook form), I would highly recommend it.
