In this video, I react to comments made by Dr. Umar regarding female rap culture and the influence of men on the content being promoted in the music industry.
The central question is simple: Who should ultimately be held accountable for the lyrics, messages, and behavior promoted by female artists?
Dr. Umar argues that men play a significant role in shaping the culture and demand surrounding female rap. However, I examine the issue from a different perspective. While audiences, record labels, social trends, and market incentives may all play a role, adult women are still responsible for their own decisions, artistic choices, and public messaging.
At what point does personal accountability matter?
Can we blame consumers for everything artists produce? Should responsibility rest primarily with the individuals creating the content? Or is the answer somewhere in the middle?
