In the 2025 Elisabeth B. Weintz Humanitarian Awardee lecture, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, said health is the foundation of peace and security. Dr. Tedros urged nations to come together to find common solutions. Dr. Tedros was awarded the 2025 Elisabeth B. Weintz Humanitarian Award from the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative (HHI) during a ceremony on October 8, 2025 at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
