In 1992, my sister brought a tape recorder into her 5th grade classroom. She and her friends filled the tape up with various skits and mock commercials. Dr. Pepsi, a too-good/bad-to-be-true soft drink ad, was the genius improvisation of Gayatri Eassey (Agnew).
Upon hearing this tape for the first time in 2015, I thought it would be fun to animate the Dr. Pepsi skit. I chose paper cut-outs because of their ease and because it's probably what a fifth-grader would have chosen.
