Dr. Mauro F. Cardoso is a full Member of the International Society for Autism Research (USA), Member of the International Affairs Committee of the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (USA), Full Member of the International Child Neurology Association, and Invited Member of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (USA).

He has extensive experience in neuropediatrics, working as a neuropediatrician at the Pestalozzi Association of Niterói (1997-2013), rising to the position of Medical Director and General Technical Coordinator.

Reviewer for the Intellectual Disability Area of ​​the Advisory and Support Group for Health Actions of the National Plan for Persons with Disabilities (Ministry of Health - Brasília - 2012-2013). Medical Director of the Itaboraí Autistic School Clinic (the first public school clinic for autistic people in Brazil).
