Scientifica's International Manager, Suzie Tompkinson, meets Dr Mantegazza, from the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology, to talk about the important role electrophysiology has played in his work on epilepsy.

He describes how electrophysiology and calcium imaging techniques were combined to form animal models of epilepsy: allowing researchers to study the functional effects of mutations in epilepsy patients and possible therapeutic approaches.
