CACOR members joined our Women's Issues and Perspectives Committee in an exciting opportunity to hear Dr. Mamphela Ramphele, one of the co-chairs of the International Club of Rome (CoR), as she joins us in a discussion based on work she and others have done for CoR. Dr. Ramphele has been invited as a participant in the 4th discussion reviewing the 2 CoR books/reports Limits and Beyond and Earth4All. She was one of the authors of one of the books and was involved in preparing the second one. It was great to get her inputs to better understand some of the issues and share our collective experiences. Dr. Ramphele gave us some insights into what is happening in her own continent.
Since last fall, the Women's Issues and Perspectives Committee has focussed on reviewing specific chapters in each book. There is a rich and diverse source of information in these reports that pertain to our mandate and our theme for this year, “Women’s Issues and Perspectives and Climate Adaptation, Mitigation, Resilience and Solutions to the Crisis.”
