The Democratic Republic of the Congo has launched an Ebola vaccination campaign for frontline health workers in Kisangani, as authorities step up efforts to contain the country's fastest‑growing Ebola outbreak. The outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo virus strain, was first reported in Ituri Province in May and has since spread to six provinces. By late August, more than 5,700 confirmed cases and 2,700 deaths had been recorded, making it the deadliest Ebola outbreak in the country's history. #Ebola #DRC #vaccine
